How Face Selection Works

Face IDs are determined independently based only on your character's gender. Ethnicity has no effect on what faces you can get.

• —Male characters receive a face from the male face pool (equal chance among standard faces).
• —Female characters receive a face from the female face pool (equal chance among standard faces).
• —After initial selection, there is a 1% chance to receive a special "mogger" face instead.
• —Mogger faces apply to both male and female characters and override normal face selection.
• —Rerolling gender will also reroll your face (and hair, accessories). Height and hair color remain.

Face Availability by Ethnicity

Your character's ethnicity does not affect which faces you can roll. The face pool is determined entirely by gender. However, certain face designs may visually resemble specific ethnicities:

• —Middle Eastern Face — Some male face options in the standard pool have Middle Eastern facial features (stronger brow, defined jaw). These are part of the standard 99% face pool with ~8.25% odds each, same as all other standard faces.
• —Asian Face Features — The default gakuran setting is May 2007 Japan, so many faces are designed with East Asian aesthetics in mind.
• —Ethnicity is Cosmetic Only — Your chosen ethnicity label changes your height bias and starting appearance but does not lock or unlock any faces.

Players searching for "Middle Eastern face in Gakuran" should know that all standard male faces are equally accessible regardless of ethnicity selection.

New Faces in 2026 (v7.465 Update)

The July 20 v7.465 update brought a major face system rework. Here is what changed:

• ➜Face Rarity Rework: The entire face system was refactored into rarity tiers — no longer just "standard vs mogger." Each face now has a specific drop rate within its pool.
• ➜New Male & Female Faces: A batch of brand-new male and female face designs were added. The female pool gained a new cat face (paired with the cat ears accessory).
• ➜Camera Improvements: Face customization now has an improved preview camera with better lighting via the reworked illumination system.
• ➜Mogger Faces: The 1% rare pool currently has 3 confirmed mogger variants — Dark Green, Rinnegan, and Light Blue. New mogger faces may be added in future updates.

Players searching for Gakuran face IDs should know that face IDs in Gakuran are assigned based on gender, not ethnicity. The game randomly selects from a pool of male or female face designs when you create a character.
